The Scriptures –
2 Samuel 24:24b,
Romans 12:1,
Ephesians 2:8-10, 1
Peter 4:8-11
So David said, “I am not going to offer up to Yahweh my God burnt offerings that cost me
nothing.”
Paul wrote, “Sisters and brothers, I beg you through the mercy of God to offer your bodies as a
living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”
Paul wrote, “It is by grace that you have been saved, through faith—and even that is not of
yourselves, but the gift of God. Nor is it a reward for anything that you have done, so nobody
can claim the credit. We are God’s work of art, created in Christ Jesus to do the good things
God created us to do from the beginning.”
Peter wrote, “Above all, let your love for one another be constant, for love covers a multitude of
sins. Be mutually hospitable without complaining. As generous distributors of God’s manifold
grace, put your gifts at the service of one anothyer, each in the measure you have received.”
One: This is the Word of God for the whole world.
All: Thanks be to God.
